Discipline History
Mechanics is among the founding disciplines of Jiangsu University (then Zhenjiang Agricultural Machinery Institute). It is a Jiangsu Provincial Key Discipline and one of the earliest established programs in the university's history.
• 1981: Solid Mechanics approved as one of the first M.S. programs nationwide
• 1996: Fluid Mechanics approved as an M.S. program
• 2003: Solid Mechanics approved as a Ph.D. program
• 2005: Mechanics approved as a first-level discipline M.S. program
• 2012: Postdoctoral Research Program in Mechanics established
• 2018: Mechanics approved as a first-level discipline Ph.D. program
